Welcome to the weekend, my mates! We’ve had an incredible week with household visiting, driving out to observe the eclipse in totality (so many ideas right here, however WOW sums it up), celebrating my niece’s birthday, enjoying video games, and cooking a lot meals. it’s been a soothing time once I’m now fortunately trying ahead to a number of straight days of labor. (However first, we’ll take pleasure in the remainder of the weekend!)
ON THE BLOGS THIS WEEK: Loaded with our favourite Mexican flavors; this southwest chicken soup is barely spicy with chunks of tomatoes, corn, black beans, and tender hen. I wish to prime the steaming bowls of soup with a handful of shredded cheese and the whole household provides this dinner two thumbs up. The most effective half? You can also make this soup in simply TEN minutes!
Mango corn salsa is a candy and spicy deal with boasting a satisfying crunch of recent corn and gentle jalapeno warmth. Whether or not it’s scooped over grilled hen or served by itself with chips for dipping, it disappears quick.
Creamy, candy, and tangy poppy seed dressing frivolously coats every chew of this broccoli slaw salad. With crisp recent broccoli and carrots, the chew of purple onion, the crunch of pecans, and the candy chewy enjoyable of dried cranberries, this broccoli salad is a terrific facet dish for nearly any meal.
Bursting with candy and barely tart blueberries, this blueberry simple syrup will elevate your lemonades, pancakes, and cocktails with the essence of pure summer time goodness.
Oh, my mates, these blueberry lemon bars turned out much more wonderful than I hoped! With candy bursting blueberries in each chew of the tangy lemon bars, they proved irresistible for me.
These buttery, not-too-sweet glazed lemon cookies have a light lemon taste and a sweetly tart lemon glaze. They’ve been a success with everybody who tries one.
As a lot as all of us love old school banana break up ice cream sundae, I’m right here to inform you that banana split ice cream is an entire new world of home made ice cream.
What I’m CRAVING: Sizzling pretzels! I’ve a considerably ridiculous weak point for recent pretzels. There’s a pretzel store in our village and I not often resist stopping in when their gentle is on. (Fortunately, the store is simply open two days per week!) Within the meantime, when the native pretzels aren’t obtainable, we will make our personal utilizing Rebecca’s awesome pretzel recipes.
What I’m WATCHING: Insurgent and Allegiant. We completed watching the Divergent sequence whereas my youngest was on his spring break. I hadn’t seen the final film earlier than and we loved it. I want they’d completed the sequence (and never break up the final guide into 2 separate deliberate motion pictures), but it surely works out okay the best way it was carried out.
What I’m READING: Four by Veronica Roth. If you happen to’re a fan of the Divergent sequence, you’ll perceive how enjoyable it was to bump into this assortment of pre-Divergent tales, all advised from Tobias’s (a.ok.a. “4’s”) viewpoint.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all of your coronary heart and with all of your soul and with all of your thoughts. That is the good and first commandment. And a second is prefer it: You shall love your neighbor as your self.” Matthew 22:37-39 ESV
Wishing you a stunning week filled with little issues that make you smile!
